The EU energy citizen study was prepared with Friends of the Earth Europe, Greenpeace and the European Federation for Renewable Energy cooperatives (REScoop.eu) (commissioned to CE Delft). The research outlines the potential for citizen-owned renewable energy projects in Europe, where 264 million “energy citizens” could generate 45% of the European Union’s electricity needs by 2050 – if good political and legal frameworks are in place. The link to the study on CE Delft’s site – http://bit.ly/energycitizenstudy – will work from Monday onwards, and has the report and full results spreadsheet (including graphs for each EU Member State).
